Collaboration with Rose’s and Almanac

Our friends from Rose’s Taproom and Almanac came by to brew a crispy, New Zealand hopped Kolsch, and have some tough conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion in the brewing industry. By brewing this beer, all participants are committing to forming a DEI committee, regardless of size. This Kolsch features the bright guava and diesel of Nelson, paired with the lime and gummy bear of Motueka. A splash of Hallertau Mittelfrüh in the kettle, and whole leaf Contessa in the mash finishes out the hop profile with a subtle herbal note, and crisp mouthfeel. Eralcea Pilsner malt rounds the flavor with hay and honey, while a dash of Admiral Chit malt adds a soft textural component to the body. This beer is crisp, balanced, and easy drinking, while staying hop-forward and flavorful.
